EU wants Trump to drop ‘reckless’ trade policies:

EU wants Trump to drop ‘reckless’ trade policies: incoming trade chief (Source Reuters) The European Union will seek to convince U.S President Donald Trump to see “the error of his ways” and abandon some of his “reckless” trade policies, the EU executive’s incoming trade commissioner, Phil Hogan, said on Tuesday. The new head of the executive European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, named a 27-strong team of commissioners on Tuesday who will take office on Nov. 1, assuming they secure approval from the European Parliament. Hogan, an Irishman currently in charge of agriculture at the Commission, will take up the post of trade commissioner, facing a battle to improve trade ties with the United States and establishing future economic relations with Britain after Brexit. “Mr Trump certainly has indicated his clear preference for trade wars rather than trade agreements. If he keeps up this particular dynamic of protectionism, I expect that the European Union will continue to forge deals around the world,” Hogan told Irish national broadcaster RTE. “But obviously we are going to do everything we possibly can to get Mr Trump to see the error of his ways and hopefully that he will be able to abandon some of the reckless behaviour that we have seen from him in relation to his relationship with China and describing the European Union as a security risk.”

The Anti-Slavery Constitution

The Anti-Slavery Constitution (Source nationalreview.com) It’s become an article of faith on the left that America was founded by racists who wrote the Constitution in part to preserve slavery. Historian David Waldstreicher calls it “a proslavery constitution, in intention and effect.” Yale law professor Akhil Amar labels the Constitution “pro-slavery.” Author Ibram Kendi claims that the Framers “embraced Black inferiority” and “enshrined the power of slaveholders and racist ideas in the nation’s founding document.” And the New York Times’ “1619 Project” purports to “reframe” American history by positing not only that the United States was founded “as a slavocracy” but that “nearly everything that has truly made America exceptional” is the result of “slavery — and the anti-black racism it required.” The idea that America is premised on white supremacy has been a commonplace of political debate ever since it was proffered by pro-slavery intellectuals in the 1830s. In his 1857 Dred Scott ruling, Chief Justice Roger Taney claimed that when the Founding Fathers said “all men are created equal,” they really meant only white men. One side of that debate argued with much plausibility that slavery was already unconstitutional, decades before adoption of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. Those amendments represented the vindication of the views of pro-Constitution abolitionists who sought to defend what they saw as a “glorious liberty document” against the pro-slavery spin that southern intellectuals were putting on it — and who, after the war, revised the nation’s fundamental law to erase those anti-freedom misinterpretations. Abolitionist constitutional thought was a vibrant movement in the pre–Civil War era. To one degree or other, it was endorsed by such luminaries as John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln, Charles Sumner, Chief Justice Salmon Chase, and Frederick Douglass. And it left its lasting mark on the Constitution, in the form of the Reconstruction amendments that remain the law today.

Can the Pentagon Find a Way to Stop Chinese and Russian Hypersonic Missiles

Can the Pentagon Find a Way to Stop Chinese and Russian Hypersonic Missiles? (Source The national Interest) Hypersonic missiles will be faster than anything yet invented and will be very hard to intercept. This is why all the major powers are racing to build them. The Pentagon is fast-tracking sensor and command and control technology development to improve defenses against fast-emerging energy hypersonic weapons threats from major rivals such as Russia or China, US Missile Defense Agency officials said. Citing particular emphasis upon the area of Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications , Missile Defense Agency Director of Operations Gary Pennett said the Pentagon is working to address “sensor and interceptor capability gaps” exposing potential vulnerability to hypersonic weapons attacks.

Catholics to gather near Vatican next month to pray for Church

Catholics to gather near Vatican next month to pray for Church in her hour of crisis (Source lifesitenews.com) An international public prayer gathering will be held at 2:30pm, on Saturday Oct. 5, 2019, at Largo Giovanni XIII in Rome, located between St. Peter’s Square and Castel Sant’Angelo.

Set to take place on the eve of the Oct. 6-27 Amazon Synod, the event will also coincide with an Oct. 5 Consistory at which Pope Francis will create 13 new cardinals.  “This powerful gesture comes in response to a common sentiment: The Church is going through her Passion.” This Passion dates back well before 2013, as Benedict XVI himself has said on several occasions. The last two years of his pontificate were also a time of intense suffering for believers; the obstacles placed along his path by open or hidden enemies were evident to all. Yet Benedict somehow acted as a dam (perhaps, in some way, he is still doing so today), but after his resignation the flood arrived. The author notes that, little by little, Catholics have been waking up to the current crisis in the Church, and over time many people have become convinced that something “more powerful” needed than the “usual” conference. Catholics from around the world are therefore being invited to “mobilize,” so as to offer “all believers a sign of hope, by praying to Our Lady for our beloved Church.”

North Korea carried out super-large multiple rocket launcher test

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the testing of a super-large multiple rocket launcher on Tuesday, North Korean state media KCNA said on Wednesday. North Korea fired a new round of short-range projectiles on Tuesday, South Korean officials said, only hours after it signalled a new willingness to resume stalled denuclearisation talks with the United States in late September.

While analysts said North Korea conducts weapons tests for a range of purposes, including technical development and reassurance for the defence establishment, Tuesday’s launches appeared to have been timed to send a message to Washington, such as what may happen if the United States doesn’t come to talks with North Korea with realistic proposals. Although U.S. President Donald Trump has played down previous tests this year, saying he did not believe short-range missiles violated any agreements, now-ousted national security adviser John Bolton had said even short-range launches by North Korea are banned under U.N. resolutions.

Pope makes strategic visit to Mozambique after peace deal

Pope makes strategic visit to Mozambique after peace deal (Source Associated Press)

Pope Francis is opening a three-nation pilgrimage to southern Africa with a strategic visit to Mozambique, just weeks after the country’s ruling party and armed opposition signed a new peace deal and weeks before national elections. Thirty years after St. John Paul II begged Mozambicans to end their civil war, Francis is expected to endorse the new Aug. 1 accord and urge its full implementation when he meets with government authorities on Thursday, his first full day in the region.

He arrives Wednesday evening but has no public events scheduled after his brief airport welcome ceremony.

The timing of the visit is not coincidental, coming just weeks after the signing of the accord between the ruling Frelimo party and the armed Frenamo opposition and before national elections on Oct. 15. The vote is considered crucial because a new constitutional amendment has decentralized power so that provincial governors will now be elected directly, rather than appointed by the central government.

Mozambique’s 15-year civil war, which ended with a 1992 peace deal, killed an estimated 1 million people and devastated the former Portuguese colony. The permanent cease-fire signed Aug. 1 was the culmination of years of negotiations to end fighting that has flared sporadically in the 27 years since.

In central Mozambique, Gorongosa National Park warden Pedro Muagura said there are hopes the pope’s visit will strengthen the deal.

Nations Invited for Animal Sacrifice on Mount of Olives Renewing Noah’s Covenant

On September 25, the 5,780th anniversary of the day on which Jewish tradition holds the world was created, the Sanhedrin is holding a conference for the emerging Organization of 70 Nations. The conference will culminate in an animal sacrifice made by representatives of the nations on the Mount of Olives in which they will renew the covenant made by Noah upon leaving the Ark.

The conference will begin on Wednesday evening, September 25, the 25th day of the Hebrew month of Elul at the Jerusalem Gate Hotel and continue until Friday, September 27. Lectures and discussions will focus on the Noahide obligations incumbent upon all of mankind. Also discussed will be the universal economic, cultural, educational that should be the focus of such an organization. A major focus will also be the establishment of an international court based on Bible principles. God established the borders of the world based on the 70 children of Israel who went down to Egypt and the 70 nations that came out from Noah. The concept of 70 nations also appears in reference to the 70 oxen offered in the Temple throughout Sukkot (the feast of the tabernacles) which the Talmud (Sukkah 55b) teaches are for the merit of the 70 nations.

G7’s no good without India and China, Putin says

‘West’s leading role is ending’: G7’s no good without India and China, Putin says (Source rt.com)

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the leading role of the West is coming to an end, and no serious international group makes much sense anymore without economic juggernauts like China and India. Putin shared his thoughts on the Group of Seven (G7) during the Eastern Economic Forum, held outside Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East on Thursday. He was asked whether he would attend the group’s meeting in the US next year if invited. US President Donald Trump said last month he will “certainly” invite Putin.

The Russian president hinted that G7 leaders should instead travel to Russia where the last G8 event was due to take place, in 2014, prior to Moscow’s expulsion from the group. “We’re open for contacts, and if our partners want to travel here, we’ll be happy to host them,” he said. Putin added, however, that the G7, in its current composition, is not up for the task of solving global issues. Last week, after the G7 meeting in France, Macron admitted that “Western hegemony” is ending and urged a rethink of the West’s approach towards Moscow. The Group of Seven comprises the US, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan. Moscow joined in the late-1990s, but was expelled in 2014 after Crimea’s reunification with Russia.

The importance of the G7 on the world stage has been called into question, as China is now the world’s second largest economy, and India is on course to becoming the third.

Is the Fed Preparing to Topple the US Dollar?

Is the Fed Preparing to Topple the US Dollar? (Source globalresearch.ca) Unusual remarks and actions by the outgoing head of the Bank of England and other central banking insiders strongly suggest that there is a very ugly scenario in the works to end the role of the US dollar as world reserve currency. In the process, this would involve that the Fed deliberately triggers a dramatic economic depression. If this scenario is actually deployed in coming months, Donald Trump will go down in history books as the second Herbert Hoover, and the world economy will be pushed into the worst collapse since the 1930s. The about-to-retire head of the very special Bank of England, Mark Carney, delivered a remarkable speech at the recent annual meeting of central bankers and finance elites at Jackson Hole Wyoming on August 23.

Carney addresses obvious flaws with the post-1944 dollar reserve system, noting that, “a destabilising asymmetry at the heart of the IMFS (International Monetary and Financial System) is growing.

While the world economy is being reordered, the US dollar remains as important as when Bretton Woods collapsed.” He states bluntly, “…In the longer term, we need to change the game…Risks are building, and they are structural.” What he then goes on to outline is a remarkably detailed blueprint for global central bank transformation of the dollar order, a revolutionary shift. Carney discusses the fact that China as the world leading trading nation is the obvious candidate to replace the dollar as leading reserve, however, he notes,

“…for the Renminbi to become a truly global currency, much more is required. Moreover, history teaches that the transition to a new global reserve currency may not proceed smoothly.”

He indicates that means it often needs wars or depressions, as he cites the role of World War I forcing out sterling in favor of the US dollar. What Carney finds more immediate is a new IMF-based monetary system to replace the dominant role of the dollar.

The Modern Revival of an Evil Culture

The Modern Revival of an Evil Culture(Source thetrumpet.com) The European Commission is trying to revive interest in the culture of the Holy Roman Empire. In 2018, during the European Year of Cultural Heritage, over 6.2 million people took part in more than 11,700 organized events across 37 countries. By the end of 2019, Europe will have hosted thousands of such events. Europe is possibly seeing its largest cultural revival yet. But history and Bible prophecy show that there is a danger in reviving this culture—a danger that few people understand.

Just as in the lead-up to World War ii, the Holy Roman Empire is being celebrated today.

Last September, Aachen, Germany, hosted a weeklong celebration of the Aachen Cathedral, featuring its founder, Charlemagne. Brussels, under the direction of Austria, set up a mini-museum depicting European arts and featuring the crown of the Holy Roman Empire. Austria has continued that theme by celebrating the late Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian i with countless events in 2019.

These seemingly peaceful cultural celebrations are deceptive. The Bible talks about such an illusion. Notice what the Apostle Paul wrote: “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). Europe’s cultural revival may look beautiful on the outside, but don’t be deceived. History shows that the fruits of this empire are grotesque, and no matter how much the Holy Roman Empire tries to portray itself as beautiful, the fruits remain the same.

Evil can never produce good. As striking as the warning signs from this empire’s history are, Bible prophecy gives an even more striking warning. The Bible prophesied the rise of four world-ruling empires that precede the return of Christ to this Earth. The fourth empire is identified by historians as the Roman Empire.

This empire would experience 10 successive resurrections, the last seven of which would be led by the Roman Catholic Church. The final resurrection of this Holy Roman Empire will continue only a short space. Christ will return and put an end to its deceit—once and for all.
