Russian jet intercepts US bomber over Baltic Sea

Russian jet intercepts US bomber over Baltic Sea (Source foxnews.com) A U.S. Air Force B-52 bomber flying a “routine mission” in international airspace over the Baltic Sea was intercepted by a Russian jet on Tuesday, a Pentagon spokesman said.
The U.S. bomber was still up in the air Tuesday afternoon and the crew had not been debriefed about the incident, meaning it was not yet known exactly how close the Russian Su-27 fighter jet came to the U.S. plane, Capt. Jeff Davis said. The bomber was deployed to the U.K. from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana earlier this month, U.S. European Command told Fox News. The “vast majority” of Russian intercepts with U.S. forces are safe and professional, Davis said.
But Tuesday’s intercept is just the latest example of aggressive Russian actions aimed at the U.S. military and homeland.

Analysis: Comes testimony takes aim at Trump’s credibility

Analysis: Comey testimony takes aim at Trump’s credibility (Source
Associated Press) unrelenting attack on the credibility of the president of the United States. The White House’s statements were “lies, plain and simple.” Comey took notes on their conversations because he worried the president “might lie” later. After a while, he said, he so distrusted the man running the country that he did not want to be left alone with him. It was a riveting, televised portrait of President Donald Trump, one unrivaled in recent memory for its potential to undermine a presidency. Comey’s message, delivered in meticulous detail, amounted to a challenge to lawmakers, the public and the special counsel now investigating possible links between Trump’s campaign and Russia: Whose account do you believe — the nation’s former top law enforcement official testifying under oath or a president with a record of skirting the truth on issues big and small?
The answer to that question ultimately may not impact the outcome of the FBI and congressional Russia probes, and it may not move Republican lawmakers any closer to a dramatic break from their party leader. But it could leave the president in a perilously weak political position not yet five months into his term. “A president cannot communicate effectively if their trust tank is full of holes and credibility has leaked out all over the political landscape,” said Matthew Dowd, who served as chief strategist for President George W. Bush’s re-election campaign. A Gallup poll conducted in April found that just 36 percent of Americans found Trump “honest and trustworthy” — down from 42 percent in February.

Nuclear nightmare worse than Fukushima could hit US because of ignored risks

Nuclear nightmare worse than Fukushima could hit US because of ignored risks – study (Source rt.com)
The US has underestimated the risks to its nuclear safety as a single nuclear fuel fire could lead to fallout “much greater than Fukushima,” according to a new study. Researches slammed the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for ignoring the potential danger.
If spent fuel at one of the dozens of US nuclear sites sets alight, it “could dwarf the horrific consequences of the Fukushima accident [in Japan],” researchers from Princeton University and the Union of Concerned Scientists  spent-fuel-fire-us-soil-could-dwarf-impact-fukushima” warned in their study published in the May 26 issue of Science magazine. The disaster would lead to “trillion-dollar consequences,” as the hypothetical fire would result in contamination of an area larger than New Jersey and force mass relocations.

China crippled U.S. spying operations by killing or imprisoning up to 20 CIA spies

China managed to “systematically dismantle” the CIA’s intelligence gathering efforts over a period of several years by executing or imprisoning a number of American sources, according to an explosive New York Times  ” report published on Saturday.
Citing unnamed sources, the Times reported that between 18 to 20 CIA informants were either killed or imprisoned by the Chinese government from late 2010 to early 2012, crippling the foreign intelligence organization’s operations in China for years, even prompting questions and concerns from within the Obama administration regarding the striking decline in the amount of information. Most sensationally, according to the report, one of the informants was “shot in front of his colleagues in the courtyard of a government building,” in order to send “a message to others who might have been working for the CIA.” Four former CIA officials told the paper that a joint counter-intelligence operation was set up between the CIA and FBI, code-named “Honey Badger,” to determine how the agents had been compromised. However the results of the operation were inconclusive, with some blaming Chinese hacking and others blaming a mole. “One of the really troubling things about this is that we still don’t know what happened,” Matt Apuzzo, a NYT journalist who worked on the story,

Trump’s move to exit Paris climate pact clears path for oil

Trump’s move to exit Paris climate pact clears path for oil (Source foxbusiness.com)
President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. from the Paris climate pact sets the stage for more cheap oil. With domestic production surging toward new records, oil prices have remained far below their 2014 high of $108 a barrel, despite efforts by OPEC and other nations to shrink a global supply glut. The dominance of American shale is even less likely to fade away now that Trump has put in motion a plan to withdraw the U.S. from the global environmental agreement, which set new targets to reduce emissions. A shift to renewable energy wouldn’t necessarily put a lid on oil production, but removing the Paris deal from the picture contributes to a more stable environment for crude, according to CFRA Research energy analyst Stewart Glickman. “If we kept these emissions goals on the board and actually endeavored to hit them, you probably would have seen an effort to reach them with more emphasis on renewables. There’s nothing really stopping ‘more of the same’ for energy demand. Crude oil is still a dominant force,” Glickman said.
The move reaffirms that oil prices will stay lower for longer. U.S. oil prices on Thursday settled 8 cents higher at $48.36, although futures were on a downward trajectory as reports detailing Trump’s decision began to surface.
The Paris agreement was non-binding, but Trump’s announcement on Thursday officially puts the U.S. on a different course. Trump said he would immediately begin to seek a renegotiation of the Paris terms, arguing that the current agreement forces U.S. businesses and taxpayers to carry most of the burden. However, for the time being, energy companies could find long-term planning more difficult. Participation in the Paris deal made it more likely that the U.S. would focus on utilizing renewable energy over oil and natural gas, Glickman noted. Future policy becomes less certain unless the U.S. successfully renegotiates the global agreement.

Asia Pivots To Germany

Is German Chancellor Angela Merkel pivoting to Asia, or is Asia pivoting to Merkel’s Germany? On Monday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off his whirlwind world tour (featuring four countries in six days) in Germany, where he met with the chancellor at Merkel’s official country retreat and had what Modi described as a “good interaction.” Their informal meeting was followed by a private dinner and two days of formal engagements featuring meetings with business leaders from both countries. Modi told German media outlet Handelsblatt that he is keen to work with Germany on his Make in India program to revitalize Indian manufacturing; Germany is one of the world’s leading makers of machine tools, and helped retool China’s factories in recent decades. Later in the week, “https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-05-30/trump-blasts-germany-again-as-merkel-modi-stress-mutual-values” \t “_blank” Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will travel to Berlin to meet Merkel just ahead of Friday’s EU-China summit meant “to advance on the strategic partnership” between the two by discussing trade, migration, climate change, foreign policy, and security.

Another positive use for medical marijuana has been targeted by actress and TV personality Whoopi Goldberg who recently launched a new cannabis line that is specifically designed to relieve painful menstrual cramps. She has partnered with entrepreneur Maya Elisabeth to launch their new company called Whoopi & Maya.

Their products include organic tinctures, skin rubs, extracts, bath soaks, and even drops that can be taken orally. All of the products are rich in magnesium, iron, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.
Other ingredients in addition to sun grown cannibus include organic raw cacao butter, organic raw cacao powder, organic coconut oil, organic raw agave, sea salt, olive oil, avocado seed oil, apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, beeswax, organic elderberries and more.
The idea for the product line came from Goldberg’s own experience with painful menstrual cramps. She found that cannabis was the only thing that gave her relief. So, when she met Maya, the two women hit it off immediately and quickly decided launch a signature line of medical cannabis products. Both women are glad to be a part of a company that offers medical relief for women. Media Blackout as U.S. Senators meet in secret with Global Elite

MEDIA BLACKOUT AS US SENATORS MEET IN SECRET WITH GLOBAL ELITE ONLY MILES FROM WHITE HOUSE (Source blacklistednews.com)
After months of obsessive coverage of “Russiagate,” the mainstream media is reminding the world of its hypocrisy once again as it ignores the annual meeting of one of the most secretive and powerful organizations of the global elite — Bilderberg. The 65th annual Bilderberg Meeting, which has been held in locations around the world throughout the years, kicked off on Thursday in Chantilly, Virginia. Despite a prestigious guest list of around 130 attendees—who will arguably have more of a global influence than a few hypothetical Russian hackers—the meeting has escaped the mainstream media’s radar in the United States. The guest list boasts a variety of politicians and financiers, including Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund; José Manuel Barroso, chairman of Goldman Sachs International; Jens Stoltenberg, secretary general of NATO; and Cui Tiankai, China’s ambassador to the U.S. While this year’s location is less than 30 miles from the White House, and the group is set to discuss the current status of the Trump Administration, President Trump himself was not included on the list of expected guests. The Bilderberg release listed a range of topics to be discussed in 2017, from “The Trump Administration: A progress report,” to “China,” to “Nuclear Proliferation,” to “Russia in the international order,” to “The direction of the EU,” to “The Trans-Atlantic defense alliance: bullets, bytes and bucks.
